Architecture is my passion. However, in 2019 I took the opportunity to enroll for the elective ‘Automotive 3D’, a course given at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. I wanted to take the chance to take the countless doodles and sketches of cars I make during classes and lectures and convert them into a 1:6 scaled clay model.
The car has a very wide and aggressive stance. The boxed wheel arches further enhance its presence. The body, however, is very elegant, with short front overhangs and a long tail resulting in dramatic proportions. These two contrasting elements, the elegance underpinned by strength, is what makes the car seem very refined yet capable.
My goal was to take the current immensely populair Sports Utility Vehicle and make a more elegant and elongated version of it.
This project was conducted as part of the elective ‘Automotive 3D’ at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology.
